Welcome To Mrs. Palmer's Chemistry Class

---- This is what our class schedule book says about our Chemistry class ----

Chemistry studies matter's structure and composition.

The class and laboratory are designed to acquaint the student with the basic concepts involved in the study of the structure, composition, and make up of matter. ( Prerequisites- Freshmen Science and Algebra 1) Open to 10, 11, 12.

-------- Enough of that --------

----This is what we, the students, have to say about it----

In Mrs. Palmer's class, chemistry is far from boring. After eight weeks of teaching in Ireland she is back in America and educating the young adults of Mediapolis, IA. She loves Chemistry and she shows it in her work. Her teaching methods are just as unique as is her personality. She always keeps that class moving, which really helps to keep the students interested, whether it be by putting on a blonde wig and calling herself Mrs. Elvira Safety, inviting in guest speakers, or by allowing them to do multiple hands-on projects that keep the students motivated. Mrs. Palmer always has a question of the week that she gets from some unknown source, the book in her desk, and gives us a week to figure out the answer to it. She always seems to be able to stump us with the questiosn whether they be about quarks, or great astronomers, or even the names of fish that were thought to be extinct.

Mrs. Palmer also teaches Physics and Astronomy/Earth Science. She also happens to be a big fan of Mole Day, which for those of you who don't know what that is, it is October 23 from 6:02 in the morning to 6:02 in the evening.
